Over £55,000 of 'drugs' have been found in an East Kilbride house during a police operation.

Police say they have seized Class A drugs following a raid at a property in the town at around 9am on Tuesday, May 21.

Acting under a search warrant, officers searched a house in Alberta Avenue.

During it, they allegedly recovered cocaine, heroin, and cannabis worth an estimated street value of more than £55k.

Following it, a 28-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were arrested in connection with the reported discovery.

They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 22.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers in Lanarkshire have seized Class A drugs following an operation in East Kilbride on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. 

"Around 9am, officers acting under warrant searched a house in Alberta Avenue and recovered cocaine, heroin and cannabis worth an estimated street value of more than £55,000.

"A 28-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were arrested in connection with the seizure.

"They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 22 2024."
