A busy road in Glasgow will see several closures over the course of June.

Due to essential overnight resurfacing works, the northbound and southbound of the A82 Great Western Road, near Bowling, will see major work between June 2 and June 25.

The works will take place in two phases and will improve the condition of the carriageway and reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

Phase one will see the resurfacing of the northbound A82 Great Western Road, between the A814 Bowling/Old Kilpatrick junction and Dunglass Roundabout. This will take place from June 2 until June 8 and will be carried out using overnight full road closures between 10pm and 6am, each night, with additional lane closures on the southbound carriageway from 8pm each night.

A signed diversion route will be in operation.

This road will re-open as normal, each day, while this work is taking place. Access and exit to and from Dunglass Roundabout from Balloch and Bowling will be maintained throughout.

Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Sunday 9th June.

Phase two will then see the resurfacing of the southbound A82 Great Western Road, between the A898 off-slip road and the A898 on-slip road, from June 13 until June 24.

The work will be carried out using overnight full road closures between 10pm and 6am, each night, with additional lane closures on the northbound carriageway from 8pm each night.

Again, signed diversion routes will be in operation and the road will re-open as normal, each day, while this work is taking place.

Traffic management will be removed by 6am on June 25.

Diversions will be in place and access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Local access will be provided throughout these works.

Construction noise will occur during the works, however the noisier operations have been programmed such as to minimise disturbance.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
