A Glasgow cafe has urged two customers to return after 'walking out without paying'.

Sorriso Cafe in the city's Candleriggs area took to social media to plea for the pair to come back after leaving without paying their bill on Saturday, May 25.

In the post, the eatery says they believe it was 'an accident' and they are willing to let them return and pay.

However, if not, the venue has said they will be forced to take the 'appropriate legal action'.

On top of that, the cafe has hit out urging visitors that they 'do not tolerate theft'.

In the post, Sorriso also shared a video of the incident - where the pair could be seen entering the toilets together before heading out the door.

The cafe then went on to remind customers they have 'plenty of bathrooms' and there is 'no need' to enter its 'disabled access toilet together'.

Following the situation, police have said they received a report of two customers leaving a business premises in the area without paying.

The force has said an investigation into the incident is underway.

In the Instagram post, the venue said: "After some careful consideration, we felt we had to post this - can the couple featured in this video please return and pay the bill you walked out on.

"We would like to believe this was an accident and are willing to extend you the offer of returning to pay today otherwise we will have to take appropriate legal action.

"We do not tolerate theft at Sorriso and apologise to our customers that we have had to take such drastic action today.

"Furthermore, we have plenty of bathrooms in our cafe and there is no need to enter our disabled access toilet together.

"If you are able to use our alternative bathrooms during your visits please do and leave our disabled access toilet for those who need it, thank you."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 3.20pm on May 25, 2024, police received a report two customers had left a business premises in Candleriggs without paying.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”
