A plush Mercedes has been left 'significantly damaged' after a 'reckless incident' in Glasgow.

Police are appealing for information after the motor was deliberately torched in the city's Barlanark area.

The incident happened at around 5am on Sunday, October 6, in Garvel Crescent. During it, the force claims the black A-Class Merc was set alight.

Luckily, no one was injured during the blaze.

Detective Constable Gill Burns said: “Thankfully, no one was injured from this reckless act, however, the car sustained significant damage.

“We are appealing to anyone with any information regarding this incident or who may have possibly witnessed anything suspicious around this time, to please contact police.

“In addition, anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage is asked to come forward.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Anyone with information which could help can contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0808 of Sunday, October 6, 2024, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
