‘Long overdue’ resurfacing works have been carried out on a busy road in Glasgow.
Crescent Road was resurfaced earlier this week to fix damage to the street, which is located near Knightswood Shopping Centre.
Councillor Malcolm Mitchell, who represents the Garscadden/Scotstounhill ward, explained that residents who live near the road have been calling for the works to be done “for some time”.
However, due to ‘tight’ budgets, the issue was not resolved.
The resurfacing has now been made possible after money was allocated from the Neighbourhood Infrastructure Improvement Fund (NIIF).
Councillor Mitchell said: “Local residents have been requesting action at this location for a while.
"Myself and other colleagues have raised this with the council on several occasions, but budgets are tight and it was clear this wouldn't be addressed in the short-term via business-as-usual, that's where NIIF comes in."

NIIF is a fund that was launched by Glasgow City Council.
It allocates £1 million to each of the 23 wards in the city and is managed by each area partnership.
NIIF allows for participatory budgeting and can be used to improve open spaces, road safety, and street lighting.
Residents are also able to vote on their preferred ideas for how to spend the money in their community.
Councillor Mitchell, who chairs the Garscadden/Scotstounhill Area Partnership, added: "The area partnership considered and approved funding for the resurfacing of Crescent Road.
“In a year, we've gone from tabling this at an area partnership meeting to completion on the ground.
"I'm now looking forward to seeing what other projects we can support. There are already a few other ideas currently being explored."
