A man was caught with a knife after a drugs search.

Kevin Caughey, 44, was snared with the blade in Glasgow city centre's Clyde Street on September 26 2025.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that officers smelled a strong stench of cannabis and approached Caughey.

Prosecutor Josh Dowie said: "A search was conducted in which a 3.4 inch blade was recovered from his right jacket pocket."

Caughey was then arrested.

He pleaded guilty to having the knife in a public place.

Roberto Manini, defending, told the court that the knife was used to "cut up drugs."

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Iain Fleming who continued Caughey's remand in custody meantime.
