Four people treated after fire breaks out Glasgow house

Four people were handed into the care of the ambulance service after a fire broke out at a home in Knightswood.

Emergency services were called to the property on Cowdenhill Road shortly after 12.30pm this afternoon following reports of a fire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent two fire engines to the scene and extinguished the blaze.

A spokesperson confirmed four people were taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS).

One person was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Their condition is not known.

Fire crews have now left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.36pm on Friday, January 23, to reports of a fire within a domestic property on Cowdenhill Road in Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, and the fire was extinguished.

"Four casualties were taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Crews have now left the scene after ensuring the area was safe."

An SAS spokesperon said: "We received a call at 12.41pm to attend an incident on Cowdenhill Road, Glasgow.

"We dispatched four special operations response teams (SORT), two ambulances, and a trauma team to the scene.

"We transported one patient to Glasgow Royal Infirmary."

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
