Scotland’s victory in the Calcutta Cup drew STV’s largest overnight audience of the year.

The Guinness Men’s Six Nations clash against England, broadcast live on Saturday, February 14, reached a peak audience of 744,000 viewers, making it the broadcaster’s biggest overnight audience of 2026 so far and the largest since the 2025 Calcutta Cup.

Average viewership for the match was 564,000, with a 49% viewing share.

Meanwhile, the match drew 189,000 live streams on STV Player, a 7% increase on the previous year’s game.

“We're delighted to bring the nation together for major sporting events like this and the Calcutta Cup was just the start – we've got the rest of this year's Six Nations and the small matter of Scotland at the FIFA World Cup all to come in 2026.”

STV will broadcast six more Six Nations matches across the tournament, including Scotland's final game against Ireland in Dublin on March 14.
