As Easter approaches, residents are being reminded to plan ahead and make use of community pharmacy services.
With many GP practices set to close on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, a number of community pharmacies across Lanarkshire will remain open to offer essential healthcare support during the long weekend.
Community pharmacies can provide a wide range of services, including advice and treatment for minor ailments, over-the-counter treatments for common seasonal issues and emergency contraception.

Graeme Bryson, pharmacy director, said: "Our community pharmacies are committed to delivering accessible healthcare services, even during public holidays.
"Pharmacists are trained professionals ready to assist with minor health concerns, provide expert medication advice and ensure that patients have access to necessary treatments without delay.
"Springtime can bring a range of seasonal health concerns, including hay fever, allergies and asthma flare-ups due to increased pollen levels.
"Additionally, colds and respiratory infections remain common as temperatures fluctuate.
"Community pharmacies are well-equipped to provide guidance on managing these conditions with over-the-counter treatments, preventive advice and referrals to further care if necessary.
"Pharmacists can also support those with long-term conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease, ensuring they have the medications and advice needed to stay well over the holiday period.
"By making use of pharmacy services, residents can receive prompt assistance and avoid unnecessary trips to A&E or urgent care services."

Residents are being advised to check their medication supplies in advance to ensure they have enough to last through the holiday period.
It’s also important to check the opening times of your nearest pharmacy, as hours may differ during public holidays.
Other suggested resources include the Lanarkshire Spring Health Hub and NHS Inform, both of which offer guidance on available healthcare options.
Planning ahead and using pharmacy services can help ensure people receive timely care and avoid putting extra strain on emergency departments during the Easter break.
