Four football fans will stand trial accused of fighting on the day of an Aberdeen and Hibernian match.

Kyle Hay, 27, Finlay Slessor, 20, Liam Bowler, 30, and Jack Sylvester, 28, allegedly behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.

Aberdeen and Hibs faced off on November 4 2023 at Hampden Park in the Scottish League Cup final.

The alleged disorder is claimed to have taken place in the city centre’s Hope Street.

Court papers state the four men engaged in a fight with opposition supporters and repeatedly punched them.

The charge goes on to say they three a glass and other items at opposition supporters.

It is claimed they went on to repeatedly gesture towards opposition supporters and challenged them to fight.

Slessor appears himself on a separate charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner that day.

It is claimed he shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence towards police officers.

The matter at Glasgow Sheriff Court has been administratively adjourned to trial later this month.

Hay, of Aberdeen, Slessor of Aberdeen, Bowler of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, and Sylvester, of Essex, remain on bail meantime.
