Police are taking their sexual violence prevention campaign to a major music festival.

Police Scotland's That Guy initiative, which challenges men to take responsibility for stopping sexual violence, will be present at Glasgow's TRNSMT festival today, June 19, 2026.

The campaign is focused on encouraging men to reflect on their actions, challenge misogynistic attitudes, and become positive role models for younger generations.

A dedicated stall at the festival will offer conversations with subject matter experts and an interactive mirror photobooth to stimulate self-reflection and promote positive behaviour.

Detective Chief Superintendent Sarah Taylor said: "Police Scotland has a critical role to play in preventing violence and safeguarding women and girls, but we can't do it in isolation.

"The continued rise in sexual crime in Scotland shows an urgent need for individuals and organisations to do what they can to help counteract the negative influences that young men and boys are being exposed to.

"While we hope that an increase in reports shows that victims have the confidence to contact us in the knowledge that we will always listen and treat them with dignity, we have to accept that offending is on the rise and being influenced by technology and access to the internet.

"Many young people are navigating an online environment where extreme content, sexual entitlement and harmful views about women are being normalised.

"It is so important that we all encourage a healthy alternative to the dangerous misogynistic content being produced by manosphere influencers, before sexist attitudes take hold and escalate into criminal behaviour."

Recent data highlights the scale of the issue.

Police Scotland's Quarter 4 YTD Policing Performance Report showed a 10.8% rise in recorded rape crimes, increasing from 2765 in 2024/25 to 3063 in 2025/26.

Attempted rapes also climbed by 14.3%, from 154 to 176.

The That Guy campaign continues to engage men across Scotland, having recently surveyed more than 1600 boys aged 11 to 18 about positive male role models.

Sports figures were identified as the most influential, closely followed by family members.

A separate survey found that 94% of men aged 18 to 35 believe they have a role to play in reducing sexual violence against women.
