Music fans are already flooding into Glasgow ahead of one of the biggest live shows of the summer, as Metallica prepare to take over Hampden Park tonight.
The legendary heavy metal giants are bringing their M72 World Tour to the Southside stadium this evening, with thousands expected to travel from across Scotland and beyond for a night of thunderous riffs, pyrotechnics and iconic anthems.
Excitement has been building across the city all day, with fans spotting the band ahead of the show.

Huge queues have also been reported at Glasgow Central Station, where platforms have been packed with concertgoers travelling across the city and beyond to reach Hampden, adding to the pre-show rush.
Metallica were seen leaving the luxury Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel in blazing heat earlier today as anticipation reached fever pitch outside.
Crowds gathered outside the five-star hotel hoping for a glimpse of the rock legends, and their patience was rewarded when frontman James Hetfield, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo emerged to head out to waiting vehicles.
While the band did not stop for autographs, Hetfield and Trujillo were seen smiling and acknowledging fans as they made their way through the crowds.
The trio were then whisked away in Mercedes people carriers. It is understood that drummer Lars Ulrich was also staying at the hotel, leaving separately later in the day.
Tonight’s Hampden show marks Metallica’s first performance in Scotland since 2017, when they played the OVO Hydro, and is one of only three UK dates on their M72 World Tour alongside Cardiff and London.
