Grand Tour presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have filmed a special Scottish edition of Amazon Prime's car show.

Previously known for fronting Top Gear, the trio reunited on screen in 2016 with the launch of Grand Tour, which see's them travel the world trying new cars.

Now the show has come to Scotland, with a special filmed in the Highlands due to be released later this year.

Here's everything you need to know about the Lochdown episode of Grand Tour...

What is Grand Tour?

If you are a fan of Top Gear, it is likely Grand Tour will also be your cup of tea.

Clarkson left the BBC show suddenly in 2015, with Hammond and May quitting in response.

Despite the unexpected exit, it didn't take long for another project to come along in the form of Grand Tour.

The car show was created by the trio and their former Top Gear colleague Andy Wilman, with the team first taking a live studio tent across the globe, before settling in a fixed location in the Cotswalds.

Instead of the live audience setup, the fourth series is dedicated to location films and road trips.

Where in Scotland does the special take place?

The special is titled Lochdown, a nod to the fact it was filmed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To film the episode, the team formed a social bubble in line with Covid restrictions, as seen on Jeremy Clarkson's Instagram account.

Filmed in the Scottish Highlands, the trailer hints at specially designed car-based water challenges.

In a video released on social media platform TikTok, the three can be seen trying to drive cars over a floating bridge, with James May apparently getting stuck.

Although episode three of season four was originally due to be filmed in Russia, this was postponed due to the pandemic.

However, James May confirmed that plans to eventually film in Russia were postponed rather than cancelled completely.

When will it air?

Lochdown will air on Amazon Prime on July 30.

How can I watch Grand Tour?

Grand Tour is exclusive to Amazon Prime, meaning you have to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to be able to watch.

Prime offers a 30-day free subscription, before charging you monthly as a member.
