Two Scottish chippies have been named finalists in today's top takeaway title at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.
The two that feature, which are located in Aberdeen and Ayrshire, made the top 10 after the list was whittled down from 20 eateries across the country.
The National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 take place annually and aim to raise standards across the industry.
This is the largest event dedicated to the fish and chip business and has been running for more than 30 years.

Andrew Crook, President of the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), said: “It was a tricky job whittling down the top twenty to the top ten, but the chosen takeaways have demonstrated a clear reason as to why they are deserving of this accolade.
"All finalists should be extremely proud and our judges are looking forward to getting stuck into the next set of judging!”
The best takeaway chippy will be announced after a panel of experts from across the industry undertake a rigorous judging of the 10 finalists.
The award ceremony will take place on February 28, 2023, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Scottish chippies named as best takeaway finalists in National Fish and Chip Awards 2023
Two Scottish locations have been named in this year's awards with Low's Traditional Fish and Chips in Aberdeen and The Fish Works in Largs being marked as finalists.
The Fish Works, Largs
The Fish Works in the seaside town of Largs was named one of the UK's best chippies after it was shortlisted for the honour.
The Chippy has a 4/5 rating on Tripadvisor with reviews praising the portion sizes, prices, and freshness of its food.
One user said: "The servings were huge. The price right. And the orders cooked fresh. There was a little wait, but it was fresh. The chips were great too."
Low's Traditional Fish and Chips, Aberdeen
Located in Aberdeen, Low's Traditional Fish and Chips on Berryden Road has a 3.5/5 rating based on 232 Google reviews with one reviewer saying it has "Great quality food" and "friendly people".
