1 Lewis's:
A feature of Argyle Street for decades, famous for its Christmas grotto.
2 Dallas's: An old Cowcaddens draper and milliner, taken over by House of Fraser.
3 Copland & Lye:
Founded in 1878, it was a clothes shop with branches in Sauchiehall Street, Wellington Street and Bath Street.
4 Goldbergs: One of the best-known Glasgow department stores of the 20th Century. "Take me to Goldbergs" was the punchline to their well known TV advert.
5 Pettigrew and Stephens: Once the largest department store in Scotland, it was in Sauchiehall Street.
6 Bremner's: Department store in Glassford Street, it closed in 1988.
7 Daly & Sons: Impressive drapery store in Sauchiehall Street that lasted from 1934 to 1952.
8 R W Forsyth: Clothier, hatter and glover with stores in Argyle Street and Renfield Street.
9 Arnott Simpsons:
Stood for years on the corner of Jamaica Street.
10 Muirhead's: At 200 Sauchiehall Street, the store was also taken over by Fraser's.
