IT IS great to hear that local housing departments and Glasgow City council have been regenerating housing schemes in the city of Glasgow.
Sighthill, Roystonhill, Barlornock, and the Oaklands all now have hundreds of new homes.
But what ever happened to Townhead? I know many young families who have been waiting on new homes due to being classed as overcrowded.
So why have they been stripped of the ground from around them?
Every piece of spare ground on the surrounding areas have been sold to the education sector to build new student accommodation.
This doesn’t give the people of Townhead a thought.
Five new developments are under way. Now they have been giving the go ahead to start another development a fifteen story high student village.
What about the people who aren’t students?

READING about the offer of a free hot drink for those with tickets for the aborted Christmas lights switch on in Glasgow (Evening Times, November 17).
I think they should at least get a free ice skating session!!
They've held the lights switch on ceremony in weather worse than that before.

I CANNOT believe that in these troublesome times of under performing police, NHS, councillors and MSPs where the sick, homeless, disabled and poor are struggling like never before, that our First Minister and leader, Nicola Sturgeon, states on radio that she is upset that people are "concerned" that she has no children.
Well Nicola, my concern is that you have not taken action to acquire the steel mills and keep workers in jobs including HMRC and Trident.
Instead, your party harp on about independence and remain blinkered to the needs of the people.
Give us a date now for the next referendum. and get on with repairing the sorry state we're in.

Every year the Regimental Family Association of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards take part in the Remembrance parade in George Square.
Is it possible to thank the people of Glasgow and other areas for the big turn-out?
Once again all the veterans where invited into the City Chambers so we must thank the City Of Glasgow for its hospitality ,
After the visit to the City Chambers we headed up to the Ark Pub in North Fredrick St where they laid on sandwiches and snacks for us.
