ALLY McCOIST last night admitted Rangers fans would be right to snub new season tickets unless the crisis currently engulfing the club is fixed.

Over 38,000 fans showed their support for the Gers last year even after they were dumped into the Irn-Bru Third Division.

Renewal forms are set to be sent out for the 2013/14 campaign at the start of next month. But the club is mired in fresh turmoil amid reports of bitter boardroom in-fighting.

And McCoist admitted he could understand if fans are reluctant to buy season tickets in the current climate

Asked if he thought fans would keep their cash, the manager said: "I think they would be within their rights to do that. I can totally understand that the fans will be a bit perplexed about just what is going on in terms of the last 11 months."

McCoist's comments come in the wake of Charles Green's departure as chief executive and ongoing controversy over director Imran Ahmad and allegations from disgraced previous owner Craig Whyte.

The beleaguered Ibrox boss went on: "The fans will need as much information as they can possibly get before making their mind up.

"They deserve to know and I would be very hopeful that, after however long it may be, there will be a plan set for them.

"They would then know what has happened and what we are trying to do in terms of bringing players in.

"They could then make up their own mind and we hope that would once again be to show incredible support for the club.

"I obviously hope they renew their season tickets. But the fans can't and shouldn't be kept in the dark."

Meanwhile, McCoist has refused to rule out Carlos Bocanegra and Dorin Goian, who have been out on loan at Racing Santander and Spezia respectively this season, returning to Rangers next term.

He said: "Carlos has a year to go on his contract so unless something happens I take it he will be back. We need centre-backs.

"Dorin is in the same situation. I read last week that Steaua Bucharest are interested in him, but nobody has said anything to me.

"Unless somebody tells me otherwise we will certainly be getting in touch with him to tell him when pre-season starts. We need players all throughout the team, but we certainly need the spine strengthened."
