GLENN DANIELS insists he had no qualms about playing second fiddle to Partick Thistle keeper Scott Fox this season.

The youngster was finally given his first taste of top-team action last weekend as he made his Jags debut in the goalless draw with Dumbarton.

It is his only action since switching to Firhill on a loan deal from Celtic, with Fox's stunning form giving him no chance of a look-in.

Daniels said: "I had to wait a while for my Thistle debut unfortunately. Foxy wouldn't give me a chance.

"It was good to make my debut for the club and it was my first game in first-team football too.

"Foxy has been excellent so I couldn't have any complaints about not playing.

"He was named in the PFA Team of the Year so that says a lot and shows how good he has been. He has signed a new two-year deal, which is great for him and the club.

"Everything is going well for him, it is good to see. It was hard for me to get a game but I just had to keep working hard.

"I had to prepare for every game and hope that I would get my chance. But when Foxy is doing so well, it was always going to be difficult for me."

While Fox has his long-term future secure after penning a new Firhill deal, Daniels faces an anxious wait to discover where he will be playing next season.

He has just weeks left on his Parkhead deal and is keen to get back playing as quickly as he can following the end of his loan.

He said: "I am contracted with Celtic until the end of the season.

"I haven't heard anything yet. My agent is still speaking with people to see what is going on. Hopefully I can get something sorted out soon.

"I don't want to be sitting about waiting for something to come up. I want to get playing.

"Hopefully I can get a deal soon and then I can look forward to pre-season and take it from there."
