ALLY McCOIST says his relationship with new Rangers chief Graham Wallace is 'positive' after meeting him for the
second time ahead of his side's win over Arbroath on Monday night.
Wallace was named Craig Mather's replacement as Light Blues CEO last week and saw the Third Division champions extend their lead at the top of League One to 11 points with the 3-0 victory at Gayfield.
The chartered accountant will have to win his place on the Ibrox board at the AGM next month, but boss McCoist is encouraged by the discussions he has held with the former Manchester City chief executive so far.
"I've met Graham a couple of times now and things have gone very well," he told rangers.co.uk
"We had our first meeting last Friday at Ibrox. I then got a phone call from him on Monday morning saying he had changed his diary and he was coming up to the game. That was great. He came along to the hotel and we had a cup of tea and introduced him to the players.
"It was very positive and the meetings we've had have been very encouraging. He seems to be a football man which I have to tell you I'm thrilled about.
"Graham's CV is as good as anybody's. He has a good football background and he knows the game, so the early signs have been positive.
"He's Scottish, so he certainly knows Rangers and I don't have any doubt he knows what is required here to take the club back to the top.
"The most important thing is the club. Our relationship is very important and, from speaking to Graham, all the indications are he is very aware of the problems we've had in the past.
"He knows where we want to get to as quickly as possible as well and knows the supporters have been nothing short of sensational."
