Celtic Under-19s suffered heartache in the Uefa Youth League last night as AC Milan scored a late leveller to grab a 1-1 draw.
That allowed the Italians to seal second place in Group H and let the air out of a strong showing from the young Hoops.
Connor McManus had put them ahead six minutes after the break with an outstanding strike from over 40 yards out - collecting a clearance from Milan goalkeeer Lorenzo Andrenacci.
Celtic had already unnerved the San Siro youngsters as Denny Johnstone and Paul McMullan threatened early on.
Liam Henderson then sent a shot just wide of the near post before Milan responded with a snap shot from Iacopo Cernigoi after 18 minutes.
McManus then did the business from range and Celtic pressed for a second as Henderson curled a shot on to the crossbar midway through the second half.
But Milan introduced substitute Marco Pinato to bolster their attack and he struck with just two minutes to go.
