Ruaridh Jackson is joining London Wasps at the end of the season.

The Aviva Premiership giants swooped for the 26-year-old Scotland fly-half after he was released by Glasgow Warriors.

It brings to an end his six-year association with the Scotstoun club, during which time he played 108 times scoring a total of 443 points.

Jackson, who has won 23 caps as Scotland's No.10, said: "I am very excited about joining Wasps.

"I have been at Glasgow a long time, but I am now relishing this new challenge that lies ahead.

"I've enjoyed my six years at the club and I'll take a lot of good memories with me.

"I would like to thank everyone at the Warriors for supporting me during my time in Glasgow, this club will always mean a lot to me.

"I've had the opportunity to play in some massive games and I've played with so many quality players.

"There is still a lot of rugby to be played this season and I'm looking forward to some big games ahead."

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "Ruaridh has been a fantastic ambassador for the club during his six years in Glasgow and been a key driver of the club's improvement in recent seasons.

"He became a centurion when he played against Toulon in the Heineken Cup in January - which shows how big a role he's had.

"I've really enjoyed working with Ruaridh and I'm confident he will be successful in the next stage of his rugby career.

"We wish him all the best when he moves on at the end of the season."

Wasps rugby director David Young added: "I have been very impressed with what I have seen of Ruaridh, and I am looking forward to welcoming him to the club. He will add to the quality pool of 10s we already have, and the competition for that position next season will be very strong."

Jackson - a graduate of Scottish Rugby's National Academy - was signed by former Glasgow coach Sean Lineen in 2008 as a back-up for Dan Parks. But he has fallen out of favour at Scotstoun, with Finn Russell and Duncan Weir both ahead of him in the pecking order.

Townsend has recently given two-year deals to 22-year-old Weir and 21-year-old Russell. He also has Peter Horne, who can play in the crucial pivot role.
