RANGERS boss Ally McCoist will run the rule over defender Ismael Bouzid during the League Two champions' pre-season schedule.
The Algerian international, a compatriot of former Ibrox star Madjid Bougherra, reported to the Light Blues' Murray Park base yesterday as the Gers squad returned to action ahead of the new SPFL Championship campaign.
Bouzid, who can play at centre-back or right-back, is without a club after leaving Premiership Kilmarnock and the 30-year-old stopper now has a chance to impress McCoist in the coming days as he bids to win a deal with Rangers ahead of the new season.
McCoist has already strengthened his defence with the capture of St Mirren's Darren McGregor during the close season, with youngsters Luca Gasparotto and Craig Halkett also looking to push into his plans and challenge centre-half pairing Lee McCulloch and Bilel Mohsni next term.
