WHEN you are under pressure and the fans are getting on your back, players often react badly.

So it should be no surprise that Rangers' Kris Boyd and Bilel Mohsni found themselves under the spotlight after the Hibs game.

No matter how experienced you are, no matter how long you have been involved in the game, you can still respond stupidly when provoked. Your common sense can go right out of the window in the heat of the battle.

Rangers were struggling against Hibs on Monday night. The fans were angry. Everybody was frustrated.

In those sort of scenarios, individuals you don't expect to get in trouble can lose it.

I have to be honest here, I didn't notice Boyd's or Mohsni's alleged infringements. But they they have been targeted by the SFA, with the defender already accepting a suspension and the club contesting Boyd's citing.

Perhaps a spell out of the side would allow both men to recharge their batteries after a difficult start to the campaign. Boyd needs to sit back and reflect on his season so far. I am sure he will come back hungry to do well.

Mohsni made a mistake saying to newspapers that Hibs could not be considered second tier title contenders at the weekend.

And he was also wrong to have a go at the supporters during the 3-1 loss. If you start giving them fans stick you have had it. Players never get the better of the paying spectators.

Anyway, what did Mohsni expect after Rangers had fallen 3-0 behind? A standing ovation?
