Tommy Craig has ordered his St Mirren players in for extra shooting practice in a bid to end their home scoring drought.
The Buddies have lost all five of their Scottish Premiership ties on their own turf this season.
And Kenny McLean's strike in a 2-1 defeat to champions Celtic last month is their only goal at their home ground.
Top-flight basement boys Ross County are next up at St Mirren Park tomorrow afternoon and, with only a three-point cushion over the Staggies at present, Craig knows that his side cannot afford to deliver any more blank sheets at home.
He said: "We have this goal drought at home and it is something we want to put right.
"I'd be really worried if we were not creating chances, but we are.
"I can go right back to the early part of the season and it is the same problem. We're just not putting the ball in the net.
"In training this week we have redoubled our efforts in terms of practising our finishing.
"We've even been working on shooting from the most simple of areas, because I think that is all it will take. It's just a confidence issue.
County were thumped 5-0 by Celtic on Saturday, but Saints were also disappointed as they let Inverness leave Paisley with a 1-0 win.
And Craig accepts that his side will be in deep trouble if they allow Jim McIntyre's men to make it a Highland double this weekend.
"The game has taken on an extra significance because of the position of both teams," said the Saints boss, whose side only escape 11th place because of a better goal difference to Motherwell.
"It's too early to talk about this being a relegation crunch, but the league is beginning to take shape now.
"There is a look of a top six and a bottom six appearing. But we also know two wins can move you up into the top half."
