HEARTS kid Jordan McGhee admits Saturday's showdown with Rangers will be the biggest game of his career.

The defender has established himself for both club and country this term and will line up tonight for the Scotland Under-21s in Switzerland.

Hearts can create a Championship chasm between themselves and the Ibrox side and go nine points clear in the title race this term.

McGhee said: "It will be the biggest game of my career.

"If we were to win and go nine points clear, it would be a massive boost to the players and the fans. But we can't think like that - we have just got to go out and get the win.

"It will be like a derby in many ways. The atmosphere is going to be fantastic with the travelling Rangers fans and a full Tynecastle.

"It's all about what team will handle the pressure, both pre-match and during the game. Hopefully, that will be us."

Rangers were hoping to get within one point of Hearts by beating Alloa and putting the pressure on their rivals ahead of their evening kick-off in Falkirk.

But Ally McCoist's side could only draw 1-1 with the Wasps at Ibrox as the Jambos were given a timely boost ahead of their 2-1 Bairns triumph.

McGhee said: "The Falkirk game was going to be a massive game for us no matter what the Rangers result was anyway - we had to get the three points and we did.

"Obviously, we were going to be keeping an eye on the Rangers score, but all we had to concentrate on was beating Falkirk and doing our job.

"Even if Rangers had won, there would still have been a gap between us. But with Rangers dropping points and us winning, it really fell for us."
