GUS MACPHERSON is sure Barry Ferguson can sort out his Clyde side's lack of consistency - but first the Queen's Park manager is determined to add to his woes.

Ex-Rangers star Fergie has had a baptism of fire as Bully Wee boss.

They beat the Spiders in their first league game of the season but since then have struggled to hit a sustained run of form and now trail MacPherson's men by 10 points after 13 games.

Clyde also suffered a humiliating Scottish Cup defeat to Spartans earlier this month.

But with Queen's Park heading to Broadwood tomorrow on League Two duty, MacPherson said: "We know it will be a tough game. Barry will be frustrated with his team's inconsistency and he'll be looking to close the gap to us.

"He will know how quickly it can turn round and how quickly things can change for a team.

"Clyde were one of the favourites to win the league and that in itself brings a bit of pressure.

"Barry knows better than anyone at this level what it is like to handle pressure - he has done it throughout his career.

"I am sure that he will be talking to his players about consistency. I just hope that doesn't start this week but Clyde will know that they can get a result because they have already beaten us."

Last Saturday leaders Arbroath beat Clyde 4-0 while Queen's Park saw their run of six league wins on the trot end with a 1-0 loss to Albion Rovers, who replaced them in second spot.

MacPherson added: "Barry will be looking to get a reaction from his players but so will I.

"We know that if we are not at our best then we will lose the game.

"I hope we will get a reaction from Saturday's game and get back to where we have been."
