NICKY CLARK hopes there will be further signs of improvement for Rangers as Stuart McCall gets his message across to the Ibrox squad.

The new Light Blues boss has yet to taste victory in the dugout after seeing his side drop four points in two games to Championship strugglers Livingston and Alloa in recent days.

A well-taken double from Clark could not get Rangers over the line on Tuesday night as the Wasps left it late to snatch a 2-2 draw and leave the Ibrox crowd bewildered once again.

The Gers head into Sunday's crunch promotion clash with Hibernian six points adrift of Alan Stubbs' side in the second-tier standings and in urgent need of a win to kick-start their faltering campaign.

There have been positives to take from the opening matches of the McCall era, and striker Clark is confident there is more to come.

He said: "I think we are [responding to the manager]. He has only been in the door two minutes, but he has got his ideas across about what he wants us to do. I am sure he will drill a few more things into us by then

"We have got a few days now where we can get a few training sessions under our belts before Sunday. That is football, there are games round the corner all the time and you just need to get on with it.

"The fans have got every right to be unhappy. We have not been good enough and we have not got the results we should have. I am sure, with the new manager coming in, we will get a lift. He will drill things into us and I am sure we will kick on from here and hopefully get a result on Sunday."

Having shipped another two points and missed a chance to edge closer their Capital rivals in the table, Rangers make the trip to Edinburgh under pressure to finally end their Hibs hoodoo after suffering three Championship defeats to the Leith outfit already this term.

Victory at Easter Road would be a timely boost for a squad that hasn't won since the 2-1 triumph away to Raith Rovers a month ago.

And Clark is relishing the challenge as the Light Blues bid to end their barren run and take another step towards a play-off berth.

He said: "We are looking forward to it. We know it is a massive game, but every game is massive when you are at this club.

"I think there are a lot of positives we can take out of the Alloa game. I thought Walshy (Tom Walsh) was brilliant again and Temps (David Templeton) made a difference when he came on. I am sure we can take a bit of confidence from it into Sunday.

"We do need to beat them, but at Rangers you need to win every game. We will look forward to Sunday and get a couple of good sessions in with the manager before then. I am sure we will be ready for it."
