MOTHERWELL gaffer Ian Baraclough is looking forward to welcoming predecessor Stuart McCall back to Fir Park - before sending him and his team packing.

The Rangers boss left the Lanarkshire club in November after more than three years at the helm and now faces his former side in the SPFL Premiership play-off final.

The first leg at Ibrox tomorrow will be followed by the return in Lanarkshire on Sunday.

Baraclough said: "I'm looking forward to welcoming Stuart back. He did very good things with this football club and that won't be forgotten, but we want to send him home disappointed on Sunday.

"I've seen him a few times at games and I've sat with him a couple of times. I like Stuart and I respect what he's done in the game both as a player and a manager."

Baraclough acknowledges it will be a bizarre feeling for McCall when he faces Motherwell for the first time since leaving Fir Park.

The playing staff has been changed a fair bit since his departure, but Baraclough is still wary of how much insider knowledge McCall will bring into the tie.

He said: "He'll perhaps not relish coming back here, I think he's said before he'll feel awkward.

"He'll still have a good knowledge of our players as there are a good few here that Stuart brought in.

"But we have to try to put that to one side. We are fighting for our lives and need to make sure we and come out on top."
