Dave King says selling out of Rangers season tickets would bring in £12-£13m revenue for the club.

King confirmed the departures at a press conference at Ibrox today where he outlined his plans for the future of Rangers and revealed expects a new manager to be installed next week.

The chairman was speaking as he launched the Light Blues' season tickets for the new campaign that will see the club once again play in the SPFL Championship.

With the clock ticking to the new campaign, fans have been eager to hear from the Ibrox board about their vision for the rebuilding job that must be undertaken at the club.

And the South Africa based businessman has covered several bases.

King admitted Rangers had 'made progress' in their search for a new manager and insisted Stuart McCall is still in the running.

However, he ruled out the prospect of a Director of Football being appointed.

The Rangers chairman confirmed that he has a meeting this week over listing Rangers International Football Club plc on the stock market.

He also said that there had been no change in the situation with Ally McCoist and he remains on gardening leave.

King admitted that it could be right to 'over invest' this season to ensure Rangers are in a strong position for a potential return to the Premiership the season after next.

He hopes he sell out season tickets this year and raise around £13million. He says his investment depends on the income from season tickets.

King admitted Rangers need money 'now' to invest in the squad and that it will be 'substantial'.

He has also urged the fans to invest in the club to help them get back to challenging Celtic.

King says the arrangement with Sports Direct 'cannot be working' for the firm as fans continue to boycott official merchandise.

He was bullish over the financial picture at Rangers and said it was in a good situation compared to other clubs. He will increase the running costs of the club and that will require investment.

Over a three year period, the board will look at every area of the club including Murray Park and scouting.

King admitted playing in the Championship next season has put some candidates off the managers job but player identification for next season has started already.
