TONY MOWBRAY turned down the chance to bring Rangers target John Eustace to Coventry – because he already has former Ibrox star John Fleck in midfield.
Eustace will spend the next couple of weeks training at Murray Park as he bids to win a deal with Mark Warburton’s side following his exit from Derby this summer.
Sky Blues boss Mowbray said: “He was a name that was thrown at me and he’s an experienced player, the type that helps drag the team along on those Tuesday nights in the middle of winter when you’re trying to get a result.
“With total respect to John we have Fleck who is a certain type of footballer and I wasn’t sure of the balance of a Eustace alongside a Fleck was right.
"I think you’d have to change the shape of the team if you were to have a player like John Eustace and add another midfield player in there and play a different shape to the one we started to develop last season.”
