JASON HOLT has become Mark Warburton's seventh signing of the summer after completing his move to Rangers today.

The midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Ibrox just hours after he appeared as a trialist in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Burnley.

Holt was a free agent after leaving Hearts at the end of his contract but Rangers agreed a development fee of around £65,000 with the Jambos to allow the move to be completed.

The 22-year-old made 11 appearances and scored five goals during a loan spell with Sheffield United last season and has now sealed a return to Scotland after finalising his move to Ibrox.

And Holt is excited about the prospect of working under Warburton at Ibrox.

He told the Rangers website: "I think the style of play that is coming in is really exciting and if you asked anyone they would like to be a part of this.

"Throughout people's careers you come and go so I am just delighted to get this done and finally be here.

"It did hurt a wee bit leaving Tynecastle, I am a Hearts fan but it is part of football and now I am a Rangers player and my full focus is on this club.

"When the situation arose that I had an opportunity to come to Rangers I just jumped at it.

"I've been really impressed from the moment I came in the door, I spoke to a few of the boys and they were saying the same and as soon as I got a taste of it myself I just thought the same.

"I wanted to get something done straight away and thankfully it has transpired that way and the club is definitely going in the right direction."

Holt follows Wes Foderingham, James Tavernier, Rob Kiernan, Danny Wilson, Andy Halliday and Martyn Waghorn in arriving at the club ahead of the new campaign.

Rangers kick-off the season with a trip to Easter Road on Saturday when they face Hibernian in the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup.
