PATRICK ROBERTS made a promising start to his Celtic career by setting up three goals and scoring one himself on the day of his 19th birthday.
Roberts, who arrived on an 18-month loan deal from Manchester City at the end of the transfer window, turned out for the Under-20 side in a 4-0 win over Motherwell in the SPFL Development League at Cappielow.
The winger set up two goals for Regan Hendry and forced an own goal from Jake Hastie before scoring himself in the final minute.
Roberts comes with a big reputation, having been bought by City from Fulham for almost £12million last summer, and may well have forced himself into contention for a place in Sunday’s William Hill Scottish Cup fifth round meeting with East Kilbride at Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie.
