WES FODERINGHAM: Barely anything to do in the game but made two smart stops – one in each half and both from Alex Schalk – to earn his clean sheet. 6
JAMES TAVERNIER: Given the freedom to bomb up and down the right flank and didn’t need to be asked twice. Should have given Rangers the lead with a good scoring chance at the back post that he couldn’t convert. 7
CLINT HILL: Replaced the injured Rob Kiernan at the heart of the Rangers defence. Thought had opened the scoring early in the second half only for his header from a corner to be nodded off the line.6
DANNY WILSON: Back in the team for the suspended Philippe Senderos and performed solidly enough to keep County at bay. 6
LEE WALLACE: Put in a terrific first-half cross for James Tavernier who couldn’t finish. Picked up the first booking of the game late in the first half and was given a tough time of it by County winger Jonathan Franks. 6
JASON HOLT: First league game of the season for the midfielder and kept play ticking over nicely, before tiring later on. 6
ANDY HALLIDAY: Given a rousing cheer before kick-off following his verbal joust with Joey Barton earlier in the week. Curled a left-foot shot wide of target in the second half. 6
JOSH WINDASS: Rangers’ best player at Celtic Park the previous week and lively again here with several close things, including a volley that was brilliantly stopped in the second half. 7
MARTYN WAGHORN: Preferred to Kenny Miller in attack and was denied the first goal of the game by a fingertip stop by Scott Fox in the County goal. 6
JOE GARNER: Switched regularly from wide right to through the middle without seeing a huge amount of possession. 5
BARRIE MCKAY: Usual trickery down Rangers’ left although too often his crosses didn’t find any takers in the middle. 6
Subs:
KENNY MILLER (for Garner 65): Usual industrious approach. 5
MICHAEL O’HALLORAN (for Waghorn 66): Almost scored with his first touch, heading Windass’ cross against the crossbar. Looked lively in short cameo. 6
NIKO KRANJCAR (for Holt 74): Corner to Windass almost led to opening goal. 5
