CRAIG THOMSON will referee Friday's Ladbrokes Premiership clash between Partick Thistle and Celtic only days after enraging Besiktas fans for his performance in their Champions League decider.
Supporters of the Turkish club were furious with Thomson for his decision to show defender Andreas Beck a straight red card and award the Turkish club's opponents a penalty after only half an hour of the group stage clash on Tuesday.
The Ukrainians ran out 6-0 winners, ending the visitors' hopes of progress to the knockout rounds and resulting in a furious outburst against the Scottish official on social media.

Thomson sent off another Besiktas player after the break, showing Vincent Aboubakar a second yellow card with more than half an hour remaining.
The Scottish FA announced on Wednesday that Thomson will take charge of Friday night's televised Premiership clash at Firhill, three days after the events in Kiev.
The 44-year-old has flashed 76 yellow cards and four red cards in the 19 matches he has taken charge of so far this season and last officiated a Celtic game during the Hoops' 1-0 win over Rangers in the semi-final of the Betfred Cup in October.
Meanwhile, John Beaton has been appointed as referee for the crucial Ibrox clash between Rangers and Hearts on Saturday.
