Kilmarnock hope to have Kris Boyd back in their squad for the Ladbrokes Premiership visit of St Johnstone following more than two months out with a thigh injury.

But Scott Boyd (hamstring) remains absent after joining fellow central defenders Miles Addison (foot) and Jonathan Burn (thigh) on the sidelines.

Dapo Kayode and Greg Kiltie (both hamstring) are also still missing.

St Johnstone

St Johnstone attacker Michael Coulson will miss Friday night's Ladbrokes Premiership trip to Kilmarnock after suffering a calf injury which will sideline him for up to six weeks.

Striker Steven MacLean will also sit out the Rugby Park clash because of a long-standing knee complaint which prevents him from playing on plastic pitches.

Paul Paton (ankle) and Ally Gilchrist (groin) remain out but Danny Swanson (hip), Liam Craig (back) and Steven Anderson (illness) have all trained after missing last weekend's 1-1 draw with Motherwell.

The former Celtic and St Mirren midfielder missed last Saturday's defeat at Parkhead after racking up six bookings in the first 16 games of the Ladbrokes Premiership season.

Yordi Teijsse has recovered from illness but Nicky Low - who has been sidelined for most of the season with an ankle complaint - has suffered another setback after sustaining a groin strain while boss Paul Hartley is targeting a February return for skipper James McPake after his serious knee injury.

Hearts midfielder Prince Buaben is doubtful for Friday's Ladbrokes Premiership encounter at Dundee as he undergoes treatment on a calf injury.

Buaben was forced off against Partick Thistle on Saturday and Hearts are trying to manage the problem to allow him to feature over the festive period.

Sam Nicholson is definitely out as he works his way back from knee surgery.
