RICHIE FORAN reckons Rangers keeper Wes Foderingham had the game of his life at Ibrox as he denied Inverness a priceless Premiership point.

Martyn Waghorn got the only goal of the game as Mark Warburton’s side clinched victory on Christmas Eve to make it four wins from four in the top flight.

But it could have been a different story for the Light Blues if Foderingham hadn’t pulled off a string of important stops as Caley Thistle turned in a battling performance.

The Englishman denied Larnell Cole and Greg Tansey in the first half before denying Alex Fisher in the closing minutes with a terrific save.

Defeat at Ibrox saw Inverness slip to bottom spot in the Premiership standings but boss Foran was frustrated his side didn’t take a point back up the A9.

He said: “It was all down to us, how we controlled the game. I thought we absolutely dominated the first half, were great in possession and cut them open on numerous occasions, we looked solid at the back and u can’t ask for much more than that performance wise.

“We were just lacking that wee bit of magic and unfortunately we were up against a goalkeeper who was in unbelievable form and was probably the man of the match.

“It’s soul destroying how we didn’t come away with a point.

“I’ve never been involved with a team over the last eight years, even at Motherwell, where we’ve come to the Old Firm and played so well. Unbelievable performance but it wasn’t our day in terms of goal scoring.

“Not with their goalkeeper I didn’t [think Fisher’s shot was in]. It’s a great turn, a half-turn and it’s probably heading for the top corner but it was another wonderful save.

“Did it surprise me? No, he’s had his game of the season, the game of his life and credit to him, he’s done his job and got his team three points.”
