EMERSON HYNDMAN reckons Rangers is the ideal place to continue his football development after clinching a loan switch from Bournemouth.

The midfielder will spend the second half of the campaign at Ibrox as Mark Warburton’s side look to secure second spot in the Premiership.

Hyndman is highly-rated by Cherries boss Eddie Howe and he is confident Warburton will bring out the best in him in the coming months.

He said: “It has been very good so far. I have got all situated in the hotel and I met all the boys and they are all great.

“I really like the manager as well. I had a good chat with him and I am really looking forward to it.

“I think they have a similar style and similar way of playing, which is nice. It makes it an easy transition. All the boys were helping me out and getting to know them was good.

“It is very good in the way that they like to press and when they have the ball they like to keep it in attack. I think in that way it is very similar and hopefully it makes my transition much easier.

“I obviously got [Howe’s] input and he said he had no problems with me coming here at all.

“He had no worries because he fully believes that the manager here is very good and good with young players. He had no problem handing me over to the manager.”

After making a name for himself in the Championship with Fulham last term, Hyndman quit Craven Cottage to join Bournemouth in the summer.

He has been unable to make his breakthrough into Howe’s first team plans in the Premier League and will now look to make his mark in Scotland’s top flight.

The 20-year-old could be handed his debut against RB Leipzig this weekend before he bids for an Ibrox bow in the Scottish Cup clash with Motherwell.

Hyndman told RangersTV: “There are a lot of reasons [why I wanted to sign for Rangers]. It is a massive club, they are fighting for Europe and there are good players here.

“I think it is a good opportunity for me to play in a good environment and in front of 50,000 fans at home. That is unbelievable so that is why I chose [Rangers].

“It is a bit strange [to go to a club with a bigger home attendance] but it is part of the reason why the manager at Bournemouth thought it would be a really good choice.

“To be exposed to that at my age is a good thing. What I want to do here is to be a good player for Rangers and help Rangers. To get all that experience with it will help me.”
