Mikael Lustig looks like the latest player to be about to commit his future to the club and what you have to say is that you don’t really envisage a Celtic team sheet now without his name on it.
There was a suggestion when he first arrived at the club under Neil Lennon that there was a brittleness about him but he has become one of mainstays of the Celtic backline.
He is also capable of going in and utilising his experience to give cover in the centre of defence, albeit that his strengths lie in playing at right-back.

But, again, it is a sign of just where Brendan Rodgers is taking Celtic that you have players falling over themselves to be involved. It is a positive time for the club with the football on the park matching the ambition of the club and you can see how that has galvanised everyone.
I suspect that there will be a couple of players who will move on before the window closes in January but I don’t actually think that Gary Mackay-Steven, who was linked with a move to Dundee United this week, will be one of them.
The fact he was introduced down in Manchester last month and could have scored against City at the Etihad suggests that he still has some part to play. He offers cover for James Forrest, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair and I think he is a player that Rodgers will want to keep.
For the likes of Nadir Ciftci and Efe Ambrose, though, it is probably best for all parties that they make the move and get the chance to kick on with their respective careers elsewhere.
