What a game we have on Saturday in Lanarkshire.

Hamilton v Motherwell feels a little bit like a play-off before a play-off.

Motherwell may be sitting 11th in the Ladbrokes Premiership but it is a narrow goal difference which keeps Martin Canning's men ahead of their rivals from across the Clyde.

Whoever wins, if there is a winner, probably won’t go down. There are still two games to go but the morale boost the winner would get could be just enough to haul them clear of danger.

It will be edge of your seat stuff at the Superseal stadium. I thought Hamilton were disappointing v Inverness, meanwhile something hasn’t been right with Motherwell in their last two games. A pair of home defeats at this stage is a major concern.

It will be a white-knuckle ride.

I keep a lot of my own statistics and I find Motherwell are a lot better in what they do during games. They should be higher up in the league for their overall play and quality, it is purely individual errors costing them games.

Looking at Hamilton, they are resourceful and aren’t as bad as some people like to make out they are. They find their way to get results at times and getting one on Saturday is not beyond them.

If I have to predict anything I'd say it will be a draw just like it was the last time the pair met. However, if one team can find their form at the right time here, it could be pivotal for both sides in their bid to stay in the Premiership.
