Peter Lawwell’s appointment onto the European club association board is fantastic for him on a personal level but also for Celtic and Scottish football.
Celtic’s chief executive has now been elected as one of the ECA’s four representatives on UEFA’s Professional Football Strategy Council meaning that there is a Scottish voice represented among some of the main hitters of European football.

You would have to say that he has fully merited the position.
He is an outstanding businessman who has been pivotal to the position that Celtic find themselves in just now. It is the way that the club have been run which has facilitated the success that has come on the park and in the day-to-day business of managing a football club, there are few better.

In fact, we all look at other clubs coming and poaching players or taking the manager but to me if any big club south of the border were to come on for Lawwell, it would be a huge loss for Celtic.
He facilitates Brendan Rodgers’ work, with the harmony between the two coming down to the fact that they both understand their roles – and make it easier for one each other to do them.
