FIRST Minister Nicola Sturgeon has chaired a meeting of the Scottish Government's resilience group in response to the Sauchiehall Street blaze.

The SNP leader said the fire remained a "serious ongoing incident" and she thanked the emergency services for their "heroic" work throughout the day.

Advice to the public is to stay indoors and away from the area to avoid any risk of asbestos exposure.

Road closures and traffic diversions are expected to stay in place until tomorrow at the earliest.
