I was Livingston manager when we beat Hibs at Hampden back in 2004 in the League Cup final.
Scott Brown played in that game and I remember that he was impetuous and ill-disciplined. It was clear that he had some talent but there was no discipline to his game at all.
Slowly but surely that has come into his game and I have to say that he will go down as one of the most celebrated and decorated Celtic captains that have led the club.

People talk about his leadership qualities both off and on the park and that is key to the level of performance that he has produced in the last two years but you don’t spent a decade at Celtic without ability.

He has improved his game immeasurably and has also taken on board the changes that he needed to make. And now, at this stage of his career, he looks fitter and stronger than at any other stage of his playing days.
He deserves the accolades and plethora of individual awards that have come his way this term but I am sure he will look to sign off now with the biggest one of all.
