WOW. That best sums up Celtic’s performance against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
The first half was an outstanding example of football played at its best.
It was supposed to be a top-of-the-table clash against the best Kilmarnock teams in years – which this current team most certainly are – but the gulf in class was huge.
Celtic were superb. When I played for the club, I knew I would get chances in every single game.
With Alan Thompson and Didier Agathe either side of me, plus Stan Petrov rolling the ball into the channels, it was a striker’s dream.
I have always said that any centre-forward playing for Celtic should be scoring 20 goals a season – at least – because the team will always create opportunities.
But that wasn’t happening for a bit. It is now.
With Callum McGregor directing the operation from midfield, Celtic have so much attacking prowess that when things click, as they did on Saturday, teams will get blown away.
It’s a game every few days but so far, and I’ll let them off with the draw at Motherwell, Celtic have been up to the task.
