THE main reason Scotland have the fall-back of the Euro 2020 play-off is James Forrest.
Five goals in two games, including his sensational hat-trick against Israel, and as good back-to-back performances that I can remember from a Scotland player.
The Celtic man is a class act, one of the best Scots around, and should be the first name on Alex McLeish’s team-sheet.

And yet he began on the bench against San Marino, the world’s worst team, in a game in which Scotland needed to score goals.
No offence to the other lads, but there is a reason they play for their team and Forrest is at Celtic. He got on well into the second half and with his first touch set up the second goal. Another cross a few minutes later ought to have brought a third. This guy has to start.
