Ex-Rangers youngster Liam Burt netted the winning goal for CELTIC last night - hours after the Hoops announced him as their newest signing.

Burt, 20, came off the bench for Celts to score the decisive penalty in a shootout victory over Queen's Park after a 2-2 draw in their Challenge cup match.

He had earlier penned a two-year deal at Parkhead after he was released by Rangers earlier this summer.

Jack Aitchison had opened the scoring for Celtic before Armstrong Okoflex doubled their lead before half-time.

But Queen's managed to pull things back before they lost out 4-3 on spot-kicks - with Burt bagging the all-important final kick.

Meanwhile Rangers' kids are also through to the next round after a 2-1 win over Berwick Rangers.
