Celtic boss Neil Lennon hopes to bring former Hoops teammate Tommy Johnson back to Parkhead in a scouting role.
Johnson played alongside Lennon in Celtic's treble-winning campaign back at the turn of the millennium and Lennon reportedly wants a reunion.
The ex-striker is currently in recruitment at Nottingham Forest but Lennon has offered him the chance of a Celtic return, according to the Daily Mail.
Reports claim Salzburg youngster could move to Celtic 'in next 24 hours'
Celts remain in the hunt for a number of new signings before Monday's deadline and Nicky Hammond - formerly of West Brom - is currently working on it.
But Johnson could potentially be a big acquisition for his former employers in future.
Meanwhile Celtic will NOT meet the £3m valuation Kilmarnock have slapped on defender Greg Taylor.
The track towards Rosenborg left-back Birger Meling has also run cold recently.
