Craig Gordon
Had a good night. Made two smart saves in the first half when it really counted. Was noticeable how loud he was during the game. Superb save after half-time denied Chinedu Obasi. 7
Kristoffer Ajer
Lasted just 13 minutes before pulling up with a problem which forced him off. This is a worry for Celtic as the Norwegian has been brilliant. 2
Nir Bitton
His man, Kolbeinn Sigþórsson, almost scored a goal after a few minutes, although it would have been harsh to blame the Israeli who plugged a gap but no more. In saying that, he is calm at the back which is vital at this level. Superb run late on could have brought a goal. 7

Christopher Jullien
Is beginning to show why the club were so keen to get him. The Frenchman made some excellent blocks, was dominant in the air and while there were one or two bad moments, he has improved. And he got a goal as well, which he thoroughly enjoyed. 7
Boli Bolingoli
Does he play at Ibrox? No, is the answer, He was conned for the penalty and out of position to deal with the high ball. Too much comes down his side because teams have worked out he’s a weakness. This can’t go on. 4
Scott Brown
Was always there to take care of the second ball. And the wind-up an opponent when that was needed. Brown is old for a player but his legs haven’t gone and neither has his desire. Captain is crucial in these games. Great pass, ahem to set-up Jullien. 7
Callum McGregor
He got the ball, passed it, moved into space, took the ball, passed it. If Celtic are to do well in the group stage, they need McGregor fit because he belongs at this level. 8

James Forrest
What else is there to say about him? A brilliant and typical goal set up the win. His passing was superb, running off the ball tireless and was always looking to create. Did he make a single mistake? What a Celt Forrest has become. This might have been his best ever game. 9
Ryan Christie
In the first half, with the tie still up for grabs, he got back to make a perfectly timed and perhaps goal-saving tackle, and then within seconds had a pop at the AIK goal. Excellent goalkeeping denied football’s hardest worker. 8
Mikey Johnston
A brilliant run brought the oh-so vital second goal. He’s not helped by the fact Bolingoli forces him further back because so much comes down the left, but Johnston was great again. He should be in the Scotland squad. 7
Odssone Edouard
His wonderful dinked pass set up Forrest for his goal. Held the ball up, linked with team-mates, worked AIK and fulfilled his role to perfection. Lennon will hope the problem which forced him off is not serious. That £9million was a bargain. 8

Substitutes
Anthony Ralston
Deserves huge credit for being ready and sharp after being introduced to the game so early on. 7
Bayo
Replace Edouard and, who knows, might get a start against Rangers on Sunday. Almost scored with a well hit shot. 5
Lewis Morgan
Got a goal, a nice header, which will take some pressure off him - pressure that shouldn't be on him. 6
