Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard netted a double on his France under-21s debut against Albania.

The Hoops ace capped off a terrific week with a brace after netting the opener in a 2-0 win for his club at Ibrox in the derby against Rangers.

Edouard sprang from the bench to score.

His first was a typical poacher's goal, taking advantage of a defensive slip to steal in behind and lift the ball over the goalkeeper via the aid of a deflection on 77 minutes.

His second was an even better strike after he was picked out by his strike partner towards the edge of the box.

Without a second thought the front man curled an effort in off the post to seal the victory for Les Bleus as they strolled to a 4-0 win.

French news outlet L'Equipe hailed his performance at full-time.

It comes a short time after the same publication claimed Edouard was poised to join AS Monaco during the summer transfer window - and had even AGREED a deal.

The Ligue 1 giants reportedly were keen on the hit man and had looked at a move for the former PSG man.

However the deal 'fell through' when Monaco left the negotiating table for the 21-year-old.
