Former Celtic star Pierre van Hooijdonk has hailed his son after the youngster scored twice on his pro-debut.

Sydney, 19, bagged a brace from the bench as his NAC Breda outfit beat Jong AZ 2-1.

Beaming father Pierre posted his delight on social media following the victory.

He said: “What a night !!! So proud of you! Coming on with 21 min left and scoring in 13 minutes the 1-1 and 1-2.

“Great opening of your account.”

The striker scored a brilliant looping header to pull his side back into the match before a clever finish won the game.

Van Hooijdonk recently revealed to Rangers’ stars that his former team Feyenoord are no longer the giants they once were.

However he warned the Light Blues to take them seriously at Ibrox this Thursday.
