How the Rangers players rated in Thursday night's 1-0 win over Feyenoord.

ALLAN MCGREGOR Made a smart low save from Orkun Kokcu after seven minutes and was relatively untested for the remainder of the first half as Feyenoord rarely threatened. Was certainly far busier after the break and he kept Rangers ahead with a string of important blocks from all angles. 8

JAMES TAVERNIER His night got off to the worst possible start as he missed from the penalty spot but the skipper recovered to play his part in a dominant first half showing from Rangers. Kept occupied defensively as the game went on and Feyenoord grew into it but still posed an attacking threat of his own. 7

CONNOR GOLDSON Has never lost the confidence of boss Gerrard despite some fans questioning his place in the team. A couple of slack moments but was solid overall and dominant in the closing stages. This performance should help win over some of his critics. 7

FILIP HELANDER The Swede has had to be patient so far this season and this was by some distance the biggest game of his Rangers career so far. Produced his best performance, too, as he rose to the occasion. Could now be hard to shift from the team. 7

BORNA BARISIC It has been another mixed start to the season for the left-back but he repaid Gerrard’s faith in him here and had a hand in the opening goal. Looked comfortable in his own half throughout and was decent going forward as well. 7

RYAN JACK Back in the team after recovering from the knee injury sustained on Scotland duty and showed why he is so important to Rangers with a classy showing. Seemed to cover every yard of Ibrox as he continued his excellent start to the campaign. Should have scored in the second half. 8

GLEN KAMARA Given the nod to start ahead of Joe Aribo to add a bit more composure and defensive strength in the middle of the park. Did just that as he won his tackles and kept play ticking over and he deserved a warm reception when he was replaced. 7

STEVEN DAVIS Is no stranger to big European nights at Ibrox and Gerrard need not have worried about him producing a performance here. Always looking for the ball and never wasted it when he got it. 7

SCOTT ARFIELD Has looked a bit jaded at times in recent weeks but one of Gerrard’s most important players stood up to be counted when it mattered most once again. Put in a fair old shift to lead from the front but his decision making and finishing could have been better at crucial moments. 8

SHEYI OJO Will have had few better moments in his career that the effort he rifled beyond Kenneth Vermeer to give Rangers the lead amid a cacophony of noise. Almost doubled his tally before the end of the half and was dangerous after the break on an impressive night. 8

ALFREDO MORELOS Ended the first half goalless as Vermeer made two solid saves at his near post but caused Feyenoord all sorts of problems with his pace and powerful running. A goal was all that was missing for the Colombian as he was left with no reward to show for his considerable and impressive efforts. 8

Substitutes:

BRANDON BARKER (for Ojo) Couldn’t add to his first Ibrox goal from the weekend but gave Rangers fresh legs and looked bright. 4

JOE ARIBO (for Kamara) Missed out on a starting spot but played his part in the closing stages. 3

ANDY KING (for Arfield) No time to make an impact in the last seconds. 1
